Diqmaq Sadaf Bahri

Description

(دقماق صدف بحري)

The craftsmanship of this Syrian Mother of Pearl Armoire is attributed to the Buni Family, also known as Mashghal Buni (Workshop Buni), who are renowned for their expertise in mother-of-pearl inlay work. One of the most notable features of this armoire is its green pearl inlay, which is considered rare and highly prized. The armoire features a complex arched crest that is adorned with micro-mosaic panels featuring beautiful geometric strapwork. Below the crest, there is a conforming three-panel frieze that adds to the overall elegance of the piece. The armoire also boasts three arched mirrored doors, which provide a reflective surface and add depth to the design. The doors lead to an interior with six drawers arranged within turned pillars, providing ample storage space.
