This particular armoire originates from Mashghal Shaami (Workshop Shaami), a region in Syria that has a long tradition of fine furniture-making and is estimated to be over 130 years old, making it a rare and valuable example of Syrian furniture from that era. This armoire is inlaid all over with micro-mosaic and geometric strapwork, creating a mesmerizing and intricate design. The armoire features an elaborate paneled and shaped crest that adds to its grandeur. Below the crest, there is a corbelled cornice and triple-paneled frieze that create a smooth transition to the pair of arched mirrored doors. The doors are enclosed by compound baluster uprights that add to the armoire’s elegant design. The armoire also boasts two short and one long apron drawer, which provide ample storage space for your belongings.
